Benson Boone on Life After Opening for Taylor Swift and Why Bruno Mars is His Dream Collaborator

A year’s time has significantly transformed Benson Boone, as he pointed out to EbMaster during the American Music Awards in Las Vegas this week. He mentioned that his career progress has accelerated since he opened for Taylor Swift at one of her stops on her record-breaking Eras tour last year.

Boone said to EbMaster’s Marc Malkin that there’s an unending stream of performances to give, songs to compose, projects to complete, and content to share. It can be tiring at times, but he enjoys every moment of it because he loves expressing himself in this way.

Last year, Boone’s first album, titled “Fireworks and Rollerblades,” made a successful entry into the music scene on Warner Records, with the standout track “Beautiful Things” gaining widespread attention.

22-year-old musician-composer, set to unveil his second studio record titled “American Heart” in June, mentioned Bruno Mars as his ideal musical partner during an interview with Malkin. He further disclosed that Mars’ style of power-pop and R&B has partially influenced the creation of this new album.

For me, it brings back fond memories. Many people my age likely remember Bruno from our middle school and high school years. He’s incredibly popular, phenomenal even. He’s simply amazing – an extraordinary talent. And of course, I would be thrilled to collaborate with him,” Boone expressed.

Following a brief pause, Boone mentioned that the upcoming album scheduled for release on June 20 through Warner Bros. Records represents his “best attempt to create a personal interpretation of Bruno’s style.

Furthermore, he noted, “This album holds a significant place in my heart. I believe it’s the most exceptional collection of songs I’ve ever created.

The American Music Awards air live from Las Vegas on CBS and Paramount+.
