Benedict Cumberbatch, Rosamund Pike, Anthony Hopkins to Lead Guy Ritchie’s Latest Aristocratic Adventure ‘Wife & Dog’

As a seasoned cinema enthusiast who has witnessed the rise and fall of many cinematic titans, I must admit that the news about Guy Ritchie’s upcoming film “Wife & Dog” has sent a thrill down my spine! The all-star cast featuring Benedict Cumberbatch, Rosamund Pike, and Anthony Hopkins is nothing short of a masterstroke.

Director Guy Ritchie has brought together a star boasting an Academy Award and two additional actors who have been nominated for Oscars to headline his upcoming movie titled “Wife & Dog.

Benedict Cumberbatch, Rosamund Pike, and Anthony Hopkins have been chosen for a new film titled “Wife & Dog,” which was initially announced by EbMaster in May. The specifics of the storyline are being kept secret, but this project will bring director Guy Ritchie back to the vibrant, treacherous setting of the British upper class, further delving into a theme he previously addressed in both the film and TV series “The Gentleman.

The screenplay has been penned by Ritchie, who is also co-producing with his long-term producing partner, Ivan Atkinson (known for “The Gentlemen” and “Wrath of Man”), as well as John Friedberg from Black Bear Pictures (credits include “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare” and “Ferrari”). The executive producers for this project are Teddy Schwarzman and Michael Heimler, representing Black Bear.

Earlier this year, Black Bear debuted sales for a new film titled “Wife & Dog” at Cannes, which is their third project with Ritchie and Atkinson after “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare” and “In the Grey”. Principal photography for this movie is set to begin in February 2025 within the United Kingdom.

Black Bear’s latest offerings at the American Film Market featured ‘Wife & Dog,’ alongside titles such as Idris Elba’s action film ‘Hammer Down,’ Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s genre picture ‘Pendulum’ by Mark Heyman, writer of ‘Black Swan,’ David Michôd’s untitled project about Christy Martin starring Sydney Sweeney, Leslie Mann and Isla Fisher in the comedy ‘Spa Weekend,’ from the team behind ‘Bad Moms,’ Leo Woodall and Dustin Hoffman’s heist thriller ‘Tuner,’ Gregg Araki’s daring thriller ‘I Want Your Sex’ starring Olivia Wilde, and an upcoming action movie starring Jason Statham that doesn’t have a title yet.

Cumberbatch is managed by Conway van Gelder Grant, UTA, and Sloane; by Offer, Weber & Dern as well. Pike is under the care of CAA, United Agents, Magnolia Entertainment, and Prosper PR. Hopkins is handled by Independent Talent Group, UTA, and Goodman, Genow, Schenkman, Smelkinson & Christopher. Ritchie is represented by WME and Matthew Saver.
