As a cinephile who has spent countless hours immersed in the fantastical worlds of Tim Burton and the original “Beetlejuice”, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming sequel, “Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice”. The prospect of seeing Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, and the rest of the cast reprise their roles while donning fresh, eerie costumes designed by the legendary Colleen Atwood is simply thrilling.
Finally, fashion for the strange and unusual.
Warner Bros. is going above and beyond for the premiere of their “Beetlejuice” follow-up titled “Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice”, set to debut at the Venice Film Festival in August.
As an ardent fan, I’m thrilled about the upcoming film, where Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, Jenna Ortega, and Catherine O’Hara rejoin their old crew, joined by Willem Dafoe, Justin Theroux, and Monica Bellucci. Yet, what truly excites me is the arrival of four-time Oscar-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood, who is now responsible for preserving Tim Burton’s cherished whimsical goth aesthetic. Drawing inspiration from Aggie Guerard Rodgers Burton’s original costumes in the 1988 film, Atwood (who has recently been seen adding stripes to the school uniforms of the “Wednesday” cast) will bring her unique touch to the costuming for “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.” Before we get a glimpse of her innovative ghostly styles for the deceased characters, she’s also planning to debut a fresh “Beetlejuice” fashion line in collaboration with Primark.
On August 26, Primark unveils its collection that aims to encapsulate the “spirit” of the gothic style, as stated in the official press statement. We’re thrilled to reveal the first two styles from Primark, featuring a modernized rendition of the classic black and white suit and a fresh interpretation of Lydia Deetz’s red wedding gown from her past.
In five major cities across the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Italy, Primark will create window displays that mirror the theme of the latest movie.
Previously, Atwood has been involved with projects like “Sleepy Hollow”, “The Little Mermaid”, “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street”, and “Chicago”.
