BBC Chief Content Officer Charlotte Moore Joins Sony-Owned Left Bank Pictures in Dual Role as CEO and EVP Creative Director of SPT

As a movie critic, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve accepted the role of CEO at London’s Sony-owned Left Bank Pictures, a position previously held by none other than Charlotte Moore, who currently serves as the Chief Content Officer at the BBC. It’s an exciting new chapter in my career!

Beyond his current position, Moore has also been given an expanded role as Executive Vice President (EVP) and Creative Director within the recently established unit of Sony Pictures Television International Production Group.

As the new CEO of Left Bank, Moore takes over from Andy Harries, who has decided to move into an executive chair position following nearly two decades (18 years) at the head of the esteemed production company known for “The Crown” and other popular productions.

Moore is set to collaborate extensively with Andy Harries during a transition phase, and subsequently, she’ll be under the supervision of [Sony Pictures President] Wayne Garvie,” as stated in a release. “She is expected to join the companies towards the end of this year,” the statement further mentioned.

As a movie lover excitedly taking on my new role as Creative Director at SPT International Production, I’ll be spearheading our creative strategy, collaborating closely with Garvie, Matthew Justice (EVP Head of UK & Europe), and key figures from our production company, record labels, and the broader Sony Pictures and Sony Corporation families.

Moore expressed joy about joining the exceptional team at Left Bank as their CEO, one of the U.K.’s top-performing production companies. She considers this a great honor, given its impressive track record under Andy Harries’ leadership. Moore also mentioned her eagerness to get back to making programs and looks forward to working alongside Wayne Garvie and the Sony group in her role as Executive Vice President and Creative Director.

As the appointed Chief Content Officer at the BBC since 2020, I’ve had the privilege of shaping the creative direction and editorial strategy for our diverse range of content spanning both scripted and unscripted categories, all while navigating various media platforms.

Apart from Left Bank Pictures, the SPT International Production group encompasses several other scripted production entities: Bad Wolf (“Doctor Who”), Eleven (“Sex Education”), Eleventh Hour Films (“Moonflower & Marble Hall”), Murders, Curio Pictures (“The Artful Dodger”), and the Adam Patterson and Declan Lawn company Hot Sauce, established in 2024 and recently named ITV’s Helen Ziegler as their new creative director. Additionally, this group includes an internal international production studio, along with scripted production companies Teleset and Floresta based in central and south America.
