Battlefield’s free-to-play competitor is on the road to redemption. Delta Force approaches a new Season and launch on mobile devices

Last year, Delta Force, the multiplayer first-person shooter game, stood out as one of the significant free-to-play launches. It drew a substantial number of players, and even more noteworthy, it has successfully kept the majority engaged, with an impressive 96,000 users playing in unison on Steam just yesterday.

Despite its widespread appeal, numerous players are voicing dissatisfaction about various elements within the game. On Steam, only 65% of the reviews are positive, and over the past month, a mere 52% of opinions have been favorable towards Delta Force. The developers aim to improve this situation and have recently unveiled their plans for future updates on the game.

  1. The next season, Eclipse Vigil, will start on April 21st. The new season will introduce a new operator and a gameplay mode that is a variation of Warfare, but played on a smaller scale. Besides, we will get new items, including stun grenades and flying discs, which explode upon reaching their target, not only injuring enemies, but also temporarily slowing their movements.
  2. Also on April 21, the mobile versions of the game, for Android and iOS systems, will be finally released.
  3. The Eclipse Vigil will also include a new mini-gameplay mode called Operation Blackout, in which we will be fighting battles at night. This version will be available, at least for now, exclusively on PC.
  4. Besides, the devs are still combating cheaters. Last week, 1447 players were banned on PC. On the other side, during the closed beta of the mobile versions, bans were imposed on 6132 accounts.

While the ideas presented seem promising, there could be more effort put into refining the Black Hawk Down campaign that was launched in February this year. Regrettably, its initial launch did not meet expectations, receiving only 35% positive reviews on Steam. Thankfully, the response has slightly improved since then, currently standing at 44%. However, it’s crucial to acknowledge that there is still room for improvement and perfection.

Additionally, it’s been announced by Team Jade Studio that more than 20 million individuals have already enjoyed playing Delta Force. Furthermore, they confirmed that development continues on the console versions. Presently, the team is concentrating on modifying the interface and controls to accommodate controllers. Further details about the console editions will be shared soon.
