2024 has been a standout year for DC’s Dark Knight, with releases like Joker: Folie à Deux, The Penguin, and Batman: Caped Crusader. However, the focus is shifting now, as it’s time for Robin to step into the limelight. More precisely, both of Batman’s initial sidekicks, Dick Grayson and Jason Todd, will share the spotlight in an animated origin film titled Dynamic Duo.
According to Deadline, Matt Reeves, director of “The Batman,” is overseeing a separate project titled “Dynamic Duo.” This venture isn’t related to his ongoing “Batman Epic Crime Saga” universe. The script for this animation is written by Matthew Aldrich. Arthur Mintz and Theresa Andersson’s recently established studio, Swaybox, will handle the animation production. Additionally, Mintz is set to direct the film himself.
DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn confirmed the news on social media shortly after the story broke.

Swaybox Studio’s unique animation approach blends characteristics of CGI, stop-motion, and live-action performances in real time. They refer to this innovative method as “Momo Animation.
For quite some time now, I’ve harbored the ambition of creating a movie featuring Arthur and Swaybox, and making it the extraordinary and distinctive Batman and Robin tale known as “Dynamic Duo” that families could cherish. This vision is nothing less than a dream, according to Reeves in his statement.
Gunn, together with Peter Safran, are set as the producers for the upcoming film titled “Dynamic Duo,” featuring Reeves. However, the movie’s official release date has yet to be announced.
