Barbra Streisand, Jamie Lee Curtis, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and Jack Black are set to feature in the upcoming “Lead With Love” telethon organized by Project Angel Food, which will air on KTLA 5.
Project Angel Food delivers meals directly to the homes of seriously ill individuals across Los Angeles County. During this year’s fundraiser, we aim to support communities that were affected by the wildfires in January.
Project Angel Food provides support before, during, and after emergencies, especially as demands increase due to fires, inflation, and questions about federal funding. According to Project Angel Food CEO Richard Ayoub, who made a statement on Monday, the ‘Lead with Love’ approach is crucial in these challenging times. Thousands of volunteers and contributors are united with us to ensure that no one in Los Angeles has to battle illness or crisis without help. It’s truly heartening to see such unity.
Originally hosted by Eric McCormack and Jessica Holmes, with five-time host Loni Love now joining them, the show will also feature stars like Jack Black, Jimmy Kimmel, Annie Lennox, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Matt Bomer, Nathan Lee Graham, Wilson Cruz, Ann-Margret, Lori Loughlin, Steven Weber, Cameron Mathison, and Mary Fisher – a renowned artist, author, and activist. In simpler terms, the original hosts are back, along with Loni Love as a five-time host, and several other popular stars will make appearances too.
The lineup features Air Supply, Foreigner, Richard Marx, live from The Yaamava’ Performance Stage, as well as KTLA’s Studio 6B star Cheyenne Jackson, Billboard’s #1 Emerging Artist Em Beihold, and the Grammy and Tony Award-winning Jennifer Holliday.
On June 28 at 7 p.m. Pacific Time, a live telethon, sponsored by City National Bank, will air on KTLA 5.
During the telethon, there will be a segment showcasing actor and talk show host Cameron Mathison going back to Altadena, the town he personally experienced losing his house in the Eaton Fire. Here, he interacts with Orna, a 90-year-old client of Project Angel Food who is living with Alzheimer’s, as well as her niece Aria, who also suffered the loss of their home.
Brad Bessey rejoins as executive producer for the telethon, joined by Michael Levitt, Ayoub, Marcus Smith from KTLA 5, and Jacob Burch. During a heartwarming span of two hours, we aim to show the world that despite fires reducing everything to ashes, compassion remains steadfast. Our star-studded lineup will journey across the 4,752 square miles we serve, encountering individuals whose resilience is nurtured by Project Angel Food, as Bessey stated.
Beyond City National, other supporters are the Yuhaaviatam from San Manuel Nation, the Herb Ritts Foundation, The Chuck Lorre Family Foundation, Ralphs/Food4Less Foundation, and several more. Mark McBride is responsible for overseeing these sponsorships in his role as executive producer.
