Banijay Group Posts Record Results for 2024 With Double-Digit Growth to $5.2 Billion

For the year 2024, Banijay Group – a publicly traded entity specializing in movie and television production, distribution, live events, and gaming – achieved unprecedented earnings totaling approximately €4.8 billion, equivalent to around 5.2 billion.

Banijay’s adjusted EBITDA increased by 22%, amounting to €900 million ($971 million), and experienced a significant boost in the last quarter, rising by 32.8%. Simultaneously, the company’s adjusted net income also climbed by 29.3% at current exchange rates, reaching €418 million.

Banijay’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) grew by 22%, totaling €900 million ($971 million). The growth rate in the last quarter was particularly high, increasing by 32.8%. Additionally, Banijay’s net income also went up by 29.3% at the current exchange rates, ending at €418 million.

Banijay, a global TV production and distribution company with its headquarters in France, reported earnings of €3.3 billion ($3.5 billion) for both divisions in 2024, marking no significant change from the previous year’s results. The revenue generated from content production was €2.6 billion ($2.8 billion), showing a decrease of 2.8% compared to 2023. However, the final quarter of 2024 witnessed a 6.2% increase due to successful major scripted shows that were released towards the end of the year.

Banijay revealed that the year 2024 posed challenges for the television content industry, with major streaming platforms cutting back on spending and focusing more on recouping profits, particularly affecting high-end English scripted series. Despite these difficulties, Banijay’s subsidiaries managed to secure new projects in 2024, including “Carême” on Apple TV, “Las Sabinas” on Disney+, and “Culpa Tuya” on Amazon Prime Video.

Among the successful shows produced by Banijay are “Like Water for Chocolate,” which was the number one Spanish-language show on HBO Max and stayed in the top 10 most-watched programs across 35 countries after its debut; as well as “Supersex” on Netflix and “Brocéliande” on TF1. For 2025, Banijay has planned a film adaptation of “Peaky Blinders” for Netflix, among other prestigious content. In terms of global distribution, six classic formats from their library made it into the top 20 most-traveled TV formats worldwide, with shows like “Deal or No Deal,” “MasterChef,” “Big Brother,” and “Survivor” leading the way.
