At Summer Game Fest 2025, Bandai Namco unveiled a sneak peek for Code Vein 2, the upcoming sequel to their 2019 action-RPG that’s often compared to Dark Souls in an anime style. The new game features an overhauled visual style while maintaining the distinctive anime character designs.
In contrast to its forerunner, which unfolded in a post-apocalyptic world set far into the future, this new installment seems to be immersed in a dark and gothic medieval fantasy landscape, reminiscent of Bloodborne perhaps. Yet, what makes it intriguing is the hint that it will also traverse various timelines.
As per the official Twitter account for Code Vein 2, you will continue to assume the role of Revenants – the vampiric immortals from the initial game. The phrase “bound by blood” implies that the two main characters depicted might be siblings. Furthermore, anticipate a series of challenging boss battles. Given your character’s transformative powers, impressive abilities, and the inclusion of a motorcycle for mobility, this sequel may offer a more dynamic action experience with less influence from games in the Souls-like genre.
Code Vein 2 will be coming to PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2026.
