Ballerina Trailer Spoils John Wick’s Epic Return!

In the initial, complete preview for the film “Ballerina,” there’s an impressive display of action sequences and grisly deaths; however, it errs in its portrayal of John Wick’s reappearance.

The film titled “Ballerina” is an exciting spin-off from the John Wick series, set amidst the gap between the movies “Parabellum” and “Chapter 4”.

In the lead role, Ava de Armas portrays Eve Macarro, a character who is being schooled in the deadly art of assassination within the Ruska Roma’s long-held traditions.

It’s no secret that Keanu Reeves was set to reprise his role as John Wick, and the latest trailer has revealed not only the manner and motivation behind his return, but doing so may spoil the element of surprise some fans were anticipating regarding his character’s appearance in the movie.

The Ballerina trailer gives away too much about John Wick

In a perfect scenario, the appearance of John Wick in the film “Ballerina” would be a surprising element that audiences could witness as they watch, making the experience more immersive. However, we don’t live in an ideal world, and it’s not unfair for Lionsgate’s marketing team to want to inform everyone that Keanu Reeves is indeed part of the movie.

However, there’s an indirect approach to hinting at his participation – in the trailer’s conclusion, Eve is shown embarking on a revenge quest that the Chancellor (Gabriel Byrne) labels as a “declaration of war,” and subsequently orders her to halt this action.

either depart or perish.

Eve states she’s staying put,” replies John. “That’s his decision,” suggests the dialogue, setting up what the viewers might now anticipate as a confrontation between them, an event that could have been unexpected yet feels more predictable given the exchange.

Apart from the minor hiccup, it appears the trailer delivers quite impressively. It offers brooding imagery, gruesome action scenes reminiscent of top-notch John Wick films, and Ana de Armas demonstrating her fighting prowess as Eve.
