Bachelor Grant Ellis on His One Finale Regret and the ‘Weight’ of Being the Second Black Series Lead: ‘I Could Have Done Better’

Following the announcement that “The Bachelor” producers Claire Freeland and Bennett Graebner are considering leaving the series, Grant Ellis from Season 29 candidly acknowledges that improvements could have been made in its execution.

As the second Black Bachelor in history, I can’t deny that there’s a significant responsibility that comes with this role. However, I genuinely believe the producers did their utmost to support me throughout this journey. Of course, there were areas where improvements could be made, and I acknowledge my own shortcomings too. But we all aimed for one thing – an engagement. And fortunately, that’s exactly what we achieved. The focus of this show was finding love, and in the end, that’s precisely what it delivered.

Despite many viewers anticipating Juliana to receive the final rose during last night’s season finale, the event turned out to be emotionally challenging for Litia Garr. Grant confessed that he has a significant regret from the finale: doubting whether he should have picked Litia over her instead.

Grant admits, ‘I was puzzled and had to ask myself that question.’ He adds, ‘If I could do it over again, I would make a different choice.’ What he did was quite visible, and it’s something the camera captured. This is when things started to get complicated for him.

Despite the finale suggesting a challenging decision, the proximity of the choice or Grant’s self-doubt at the time didn’t impact the evolution of Grant and Juliana’s relationship during the ensuing months following the proposal.

He explained that the tough call we were discussing was due to certain reasons, and the main focus was on how hard it is to upset someone. He also noted that the changes made a big difference.)

Juliana shared the same thoughts as Grant: “After our filming concluded, he provided me with all the details I required. It seems there was a bond between you and Litia, yet nothing unexpected transpired. I had mentally braced myself for any eventuality.

After Grant’s season concludes for Bachelor Nation, the next show is “Bachelor in Paradise.” This time around, the host will bring a thrilling twist: contestants from both the “Golden Bachelor” and “Golden Bachelorette” seasons will participate. Season 29’s Zoe McGrady is among those joining the competition.
