Avowed RPG Delay Officially Confirmed, Microsoft Gives Specific Release Date. „We're Proud of What the Obsidian Team Have Accomplished,” Assures Phil Spencer

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say I’ve learned to be patient when it comes to highly anticipated games like Avowed. I remember waiting years for classics like Baldur’s Gate II and Neverwinter Nights, so an additional year or two for this masterpiece from Obsidian Entertainment is nothing compared to the joy their games have brought me over the years.

More recently, a rumor surfaced that Avowed won’t come out this year. Microsoft officially verified this news on their website X, and they also revealed the projected launch date for the Obsidian Entertainment RPG – Avowed is set to premiere on February 18, 2025, available on both PC and Xbox Series X/S platforms.

In response to the game under discussion, Phil Spencer, who leads Microsoft’s gaming division, noted that the publisher takes great pride in Obsidian’s creations and aims to secure an optimal launch date for their upcoming game.

Remember that “Avowed” was initially set to launch in fall 2024. As depicted in the graphic, Microsoft has a lineup of numerous premieres planned for this season. The first game, titled “World of Warcraft: The War Within”, is scheduled for release on August 26th, and two additional games are expected to follow in September and October.

Additionally, it’s noteworthy to highlight the GSC Game World studio’s project. The post-apocalyptic S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of the Chornoby is set for release on November 24, 2024, a move that will undoubtedly bolster Microsoft’s gaming portfolio during the second half of that year.

Those eagerly anticipating the release of Avowed may need to exhibit a bit more tolerance due to its delayed schedule. Nonetheless, you won’t have to wait until February 2025 for fresh gameplay materials – in fact, developers are planning to unveil some exciting content at gamescom 2024, which should help alleviate the wait.
