Avengers: Doomsday’s Secret Johnny Storm Easter Egg You Missed!

In the epic, five-hour live stream from Marvel, a whopping 26 Avengers: Doomsday cast members were officially announced. And guess what, I managed to spot a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it Easter Egg hinting at The Fantastic Four!

While we’re not jumping up and down just yet – the release date for Doomsday is set for May 1, 2026. However, we do have a list of 26 actors who will be part of it… but if Marvel’s predictions are correct, there’s still more to come!

It’s unlikely we’ll hear any new cast announcements for our Avengers comeback soon, but there’s plenty more of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) to explore before then. Coming up are The Thunderbolts and The Fantastic Four: First Steps, with characters from both groups expected to face off against Robert Downey Jr.’s Dr. Doom.

*Note: Thunderbolts is a team in the Marvel Universe consisting of both heroes and villains who have been reformed or are being controlled by a powerful entity.

Instead, let me emphasize that it’s important to focus on the Storm family at this moment, or rather, a revelation linked to the Doomsday event concerning one of its members.

Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday reveal had secret Johnny Storm Easter egg

After enduring nearly six hours of chair presentations, it’s understandable that one might have overlooked a sneaky reference to Johnny Storm from the Fantastic Four, portrayed by Joseph Quinn, which was hidden towards the conclusion of the live broadcast.

When Robert Downey Jr. enters an empty studio to reveal each actor’s chair, there’s a warning sign strategically positioned near the wall, specifically above Quinn’s seat. The sign reads “Danger Zone: Do Not Enter.

What’s the reason here? It’s obvious! Johnny Storm is known as the Human Torch, after all. He has the ability to envelop his whole self in flames, fly, endure fire without being harmed, and even manipulate surrounding fires with just his mental strength.

It’s possible you thought this was a delightful coincidence, but after fans pointed it out on various social media platforms, Marvel’s head of social media, Greg Dunbar (a fitting name for those in the know), acknowledged that it was indeed deliberate. In response to the observation, he posted on Twitter, “I see you!

One user commented on Instagram, saying “I’ve been checking out the comments to see if anyone caught that! Ha-ha,” to which another responded, “That’s cleverly phrased.

Indeed, it remains to be seen exactly how Quinn’s portrayal of Storm uses her abilities, only catching glimpses of this in the brief moments shown in the Fantastic Four trailer. It’s worth noting that we’ve recently encountered another version of the Human Torch as well, with the original actor Chris Evans making a guest appearance in Deadpool and Wolverine last year.
