Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora Got A Major Player-Count Boost After Fire And Ash

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is more popular on Steam than ever before, over two years after it first came out. This jump in popularity is probably because of the new downloadable content that connects directly to the newest Avatar movie.

SteamDB data reveals that the open-world game published by Ubisoft reached a new high this week, with 15,283 players. This is an increase from its previous peak of 12,496 players, which occurred last month around the time the movie Avatar: Fire and Ash was released on December 19th.

The new movie was released alongside a downloadable expansion for Frontiers of Pandora called “From the Ashes.” This expansion continues the story a few weeks after the “Fire and Ash” events and shares themes with the film. It costs $25 to purchase separately, or you can buy a special edition of the game that includes both the base game and the expansion for $40.

With the recent success of the movie – it’s earned over $1 billion – and the release of new in-game story content, it’s no surprise that Frontiers of Pandora has seen a significant increase in players and activity.

Recent updates to Frontiers of Pandora brought players back with exciting new features, including a third-person perspective and New Game Plus. These were added on December 5th, just a few weeks before the release of the ‘From the Ashes’ expansion.

In the new expansion, From the Ashes, players take on the role of So’lek, a Na’vi character determined to get revenge on both the RDA and the aggressive Ash clan, who were introduced in the Fire and Ash expansion. A preview from TopMob described From the Ashes as successfully revitalizing the gameplay experience.
