He flatlined for several minutes before doctors brought him back, and the series explores the tense and sometimes darkly funny fallout. His future is now uncertain, leaving viewers wondering if he’ll fully recover or if this health scare will change him.

It was a gamble, but Starfleet Academy didn’t quite work out. The idea had been floated for a while, and placing it so far in the future as a follow-up to Discovery didn’t resonate with many fans. Though it wasn’t flawless, I enjoyed the show and believe it deserved more time to develop. Unfortunately, it was cancelled, and now Star Trek needs a fresh approach to stay relevant. Hopefully, one of the projects currently in development will revitalize the franchise.

We have a few practical questions about how Thing will be presented. The special effects will allow Thing to move around freely, with the actor (Victor Dorobantu) digitally removed from the scenes. However, they likely won’t show the audience at Oracle Park the behind-the-scenes effect of seeing Dorobantu acting as Thing. So, it’s probable they’ll revert to a simpler approach – essentially having someone hidden in a box with just their hand visible, similar to the classic 1960s sitcom version. Will someone push Thing around on a cleaning cart, perhaps resembling Taylor Swift’s stage setup? It also seems like the actor playing Thing will have limited movement.
