Pokémon TCG Pocket earns $1.3 billion in its first year, out-earning Pokémon GO in the same timeframe

It’s a bit surprising, but when you consider the context, it makes sense. It used to be obvious how popular Pokémon GO was – you could see groups of people rushing to catch Pokémon. Similarly, Pokémon TCG Pocket launched at the peak of the Pokémon trading card craze. Everywhere you looked online, especially on Reddit, people were sharing stories about empty shelves where Pokémon cards should have been. Pokémon TCG Pocket filled a need, offering a convenient way to enjoy Pokémon cards when physical cards were hard to find.

It: Welcome to Derry Delivers a Mother of a Nightmare

I was really struck by something in It: Welcome to Derry – how easily parents can actually become the source of a child’s torment. It’s not just the monster itself, but how it feeds on the tension between generations. The way parents demand obedience, and the anger that builds up in kids because of it, that’s what really fuels this evil. It’s like that friction is exactly what It needs to thrive – it’s genuinely unsettling.

Ridiculousness Is Canceled After 1,700 Episodes

The show’s cancellation comes after Paramount, MTV’s parent company, was sold to Skydance and Larry Ellison on August 7th. Since the sale, Ellison appointed Bari Weiss to lead CBS News, laid off around 2,000 employees, and now ended a long-running MTV staple. According to Variety, the new owners want MTV to return to its roots with more innovative and diverse programming. Documents related to the show’s production company, Superjacket, revealed that Rob Dyrdek’s contract was set to increase from $32 million to $45 million by 2029. However, the shift in strategy also appears to prioritize lower production costs.

It’s Time For Julia to Go

Frustration with Julia has been building for a while, even before her recent attempt to create drama by revealing a past relationship with Adriana de Moura. A major complaint now centers on her wife, Martina Navratilova, and some viewers are calling for Julia to be fired because of Martina’s controversial views on transgender athletes and surrogacy – views that even Andy Cohen criticized as misinformed. While it’s understandable that people might dislike Martina’s opinions, punishing Julia for the actions of her spouse could lead to many cast members losing their jobs.

Crypto Bank’s Battle with the Fed: The Saga Continues!

In a ruling that’s as surprising as a toaster refusing to toast your bread just the way you like it, the US Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit sided with the Federal Reserve. The decision? Well, it’s basically “no soup for you!” for Custodia’s appeal, which they filed in April 2024 after a Wyoming district court said, “No thanks” to giving them a US Federal Reserve master account. Oh, and by the way, this drama started in October 2020 when Custodia first submitted its application. It’s been a long wait.

I Thought My Kids Were Ready For The Monster Squad. I Was Wrong.

I was wrong about how scary this movie would be! Something – maybe the dangerous situations the kids faced, the frightening beginning, or even the bats – really got to my children. They were definitely shaken up while watching it on Paramount+, though they didn’t want to stop. They’ve been a little different ever since, after seeing that group of characters battle those classic monsters.
