Created by Jacob Tierney, known for Letterkenny, Heated Rivalry is a series based on the romance novels by Rachel Reid. It follows Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams) and Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie), two star hockey players who initially dislike each other but feel a strong connection. The show spans eight years, depicting their competitive journey for success in hockey alongside their developing, complicated feelings. As they pursue their careers, Shane and Ilya must grapple with whether a genuine romantic relationship can thrive in their intensely competitive world.

The show stands out with its lavish production, incredible cast, and wildly unpredictable storylines, delivering a level of glossy entertainment that few shows even try to achieve. The first season started as a #MeToo story, introducing Reese Witherspoon as Bradley Jackson, a newcomer to a morning news program, and Jennifer Aniston as Alex Levy, the established star dealing with a scandal involving a colleague played by Steve Carell. But since then, the show has become even more dramatic and much more captivating. Over the seasons, the characters have navigated COVID-19, unexpected romantic relationships (including one with Julianna Margulies), the launch of a streaming platform, a shocking car accident in Italy that removed Carell from the show, and even a trip to space – all before Katy Perry actually went! Bradley Jackson continues to break new ground, as always.

ESPN now owns MLB.TV, meaning more out-of-market baseball games will be available on the ESPN streaming app. NBC Sports will broadcast a special Sunday morning game package, available on Peacock and NBCSN.

Leo emphasized that making a movie is a team effort, where everyone relies on each other. While a script isn’t finalized, director Bezucha has already contacted the original cast about a possible sequel. He told CNN he wouldn’t consider a reunion without Janeane Garofalo, who played Jan. Early responses from the actors have been overwhelmingly positive. Potential returning stars include Craig T. Nelson, Rachel McAdams, Elizabeth Reaser, Dermot Mulroney, Luke Wilson, and Tyrone Giordano. Claire Danes and Sarah Jessica Parker, who played sisters and love interests in the first film, are also being considered. Brian J. White could also return. The original movie is currently streaming on Disney+, making it a great time to revisit it.
