Some older anime that were once incredibly popular haven’t aged well. While they still have value and can be considered classics, modern viewers might find them disappointing compared to the hype surrounding their past success and cultural importance.

The new movie, Masters of the Universe, brings the popular 1980s toys and cartoon to life. Directed by Travis Knight, who also directed Bumblebee, the film stars Nicholas Galitzine as Adam, a man who learns he’s actually He-Man, a prince from another world. He goes back to his home world to defend his kingdom, using a powerful sword and with help from his friends. The movie also features Camila Mendes, Idris Elba, Alison Brie, Morena Baccarin, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, and Jared Leto.

Certain TV shows stand out because of their exceptional writing. They go beyond typical storylines to portray realistic, flawed characters navigating the complexities of life, as seen in series like Mad Men and The Sopranos. Others offer powerful insights into society, potentially altering your perspective, such as The Wire. And some, like Breaking Bad, are simply masterfully crafted stories brought to life by incredible performances.

In arguably the biggest twist of its run thus far, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage has officially replaced George Cooper. Lance Barber’s death set up the emotional Young Sheldon finale in 2024, which marked the end of an era for Sheldon and his family in Texas. Despite having been established for years, the way the CBS prequel executed the loss made it still gut-wrenching, especially since the series did a good job fleshing out the character.

While The Lord of the Rings features some strong human characters, it’s filled with even more powerful and frightening non-human beings. Elves, Wizards, and many other creatures demonstrate incredible power throughout the story.
