Atomic Heart 2 & The Cube MMO announced at Summer Game Fest

At Summer Game Fest, Mundfish Studio unveiled two fresh, upcoming games that will take place within the Atomic Heart universe, and one of them appears to be evolving into a Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG).

2023 saw the highly anticipated release of Atomic Heart, which was met with widespread acclaim and swiftly became a top-tier first-person shooter. It sold over 10 million units within a short period, leading numerous fans to eagerly call for a follow-up.

Two short years after, their wishes finally came true. At the Summer Game Fest event, it was unveiled that Mundfish Studio is developing a sequel to the adventure game, maintaining its signature blend of action-adventure gameplay, robust storytelling, and role-playing elements.

Typically, it seems to follow the same pattern with odd adversaries, exaggerated action sequences, and a potential larger game environment, although this hasn’t been definitively verified yet. In the trailer, there was a glimpse of the peaceful utopia blended with a tumultuous dystopian realm, much like in the initial Atomic Heart, which showcased its captivating features.

The specifics of its plot and main gameplay are still unknown for Atomic Heart 2. However, it’s confirmed that the game will be available on both PC and consoles. As of now, a release date hasn’t been announced.

Mundfish Studio reveals a brand new Atomic Heart MMO

At Summer Game Fest, another surprising announcement was made – there’s going to be a new Atomic Heart game in development, and this time it will be a Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) version.

In simpler terms, the upcoming multiplayer game, often referred to as “The Cube,” is expected to be based in the Atomic Heart universe. It appears to draw influences from games within the extract-shooter genre, offering a blend of intense action, exploration, and a dynamic, rotating environment that may also undergo frequent changes, reminiscent of “The Cube.

It appears that there’s a considerable enigma regarding the appearance of The Cube, along with its implications, which hints at a blending of narratives within the storyline, coupled with MMO-style gameplay.

Just like the hypothetical Atomic Heart 2, its launch date remains undetermined at this point. Nevertheless, it’s confirmed that it will be playable on personal computers and gaming consoles.
