Atomic Features Secures New Financing, Announces Development Fund (EXCLUSIVE)

The production company founded by Daniel Ragussis (“Imperium”) and Dennis Lee (“Fireflies in the Garden”), called Atomic Features, has successfully secured a substantial new round of investment funding. This round was headed by Fanghua Jiang, Li Jing, and Lanfu Yang.

As a dedicated fan, I’m excited to share that I’ve learned the company plans to broaden its cinematic horizons with fresh investments. This move is expected to introduce anywhere from four to eight exciting new projects into their development pipeline! Additionally, they’re setting up a production fund to finance the initial three films they’re working on – a real-time disaster thriller titled “Black Tuesday”, a chilling horror movie named “Breed”, and a dystopian thriller called “The Oasis”. Atomic Studios deviates from the conventional Hollywood approach to project development by collaborating with directors right from the start and adhering to a structured feedback system, developed by Ragussis in his Notes for Execs workshop which commenced in 2019, boasting participants from firms like Warner Bros., Universal, Fox, and Disney. Atomic’s development fund was initiated and made public in 2024, following an initial investment round led by CXM Enterprises, Davis & Associates, and Pine Valley Investments.

Previously, Jiang served as an advisor for high-net-worth individuals at JP Morgan Private Bank and for non-profit organizations like the Carnegie Hall Endowment at Paloma Partners, concurrently holding the position of Managing Director at Global Endowment Management. Her role involved linking global financial resources with creative endeavors. In her latest venture, she is an executive producer, under San Demetrio Arte, for the series “Rosemead” featuring Lucy Liu, and a co-executive producer on “Lear Rex,” which features Al Pacino and Jessica Chastain.

Jiang expressed enthusiasm in a statement about the Atomic development model, which relies on director-led projects and a one-of-a-kind methodology developed by Daniel during his Execs workshop. This unique approach has piqued the interest of the investors I represent, and they find the resulting projects very attractive.

New investors joining the ranks are Jing and Yang. Notably, Li – a prominent TV host and personality from China – is also the founder of Lafaso, which grew to become the leading cosmetics e-commerce platform in China. After dedicating numerous years to funding film and television production within China, Li’s investment in Atomic Features signifies her venture into the Hollywood feature film industry. Yang boasts a lengthy background in management consulting, strategic planning at firms such as Monitors, Capmark Financial Group, and equity investment at Deutsche Bank. However, in recent times, Yang has garnered success in a different realm – that of novel writing, with works like “The Stranded,” “Elite Housewives,” and “Oasis of Grace.” Speaking about a Hollywood company’s claimed method for screenplay development, Yang stated, “It seemed almost unbelievable when I first heard about it.
