In Sony’s State of Play event, it was confirmed that Astro Bot, Sony’s most prominent video game character for 2024, would make a return this summer. The upcoming update will introduce five fresh challenge levels, bringing the total number of planets in the game to an impressive 90.
In a subsequent update from Team Asobi, they’ve labeled four out of the five stages: Twin-Frog Trouble, Suck It Up, Handhold Havoc, and High Inflation. The fifth stage remains a mystery for now. They hinted that completing all 90 planets in the Vicious Void could result in an exciting discovery.
Following the customary tradition of introducing fresh bots in Astro’s world, the upcoming levels won’t break this pattern. Among other hints about a vengeful new arrival, the details of these new bots are being kept under wraps for now. Like past updates for Astro Bot, the new DLC will be distributed free of charge on July 10th.
Apart from updates about Astro Bot, here’s some exciting news: Sony has announced that a revised version of the Astro Bot Limited Edition DualSense wireless controller is expected later in 2025. The creative minds behind Team Asobi hinted that this new controller won’t be an identical copy of the previous Astro Bot one, instead promising a delightful surprise for the touch pad.
