Although there hasn’t been any formal declaration about a remake of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, some strong signs suggesting its potential existence might have accidentally been disclosed during a live stream by Pure Arts.
According to Insider Gaming, a streaming event took place in March showcasing a merchandise company unveiling 1/8 scale figures of Assassin’s Creed characters. However, fans quickly noticed that Edward Kenway from Black Flag was missing among the characters presented.
During this moment, a bit of puzzlement seemed to arise as one of the hosts mentioned, “Assassin’s Creed enthusiasts, take note that there seems to be some activity involving Edward [Keyway],” prompting the other host to interject and query, “Hold on, has that been officially announced?
The host affirms, “Indeed, I recall hearing murmurs about this topic. Yes, I distinctly remember reading an article… Therefore, it seems there will be some development involving Edward, and our 1/8 scale PVC statue will adapt to that change appropriately.
It’s clear that something significant is unfolding about the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake, given the intrigue surrounding its absence from Pure Arts’ latest figure collection. When questioned about the conspicuous lack of an Edward Kenway figure, they were rather cryptic in their response. This has sparked further speculation within the gaming community. #AssassinsCreed #Ubisoft

It seems clear from this conversation that no statue is currently being crafted since the character’s look has been altered in the remake.
It hasn’t been definitively decided if Ubisoft will announce the remake during Summer Game Fest, since Ubisoft Forward won’t happen this year. However, Ubisoft has officially confirmed they will be present at the PC Gaming Show.
2023 saw whispers about a potential reboot of the 2013 game circulating, with reports indicating that the project was then only in its initial stages of production. Notably, it was suggested that Ubisoft Singapore, the team behind Skull and Bones, was deeply engaged in this development effort.
