In the midst of Ubisoft’s ongoing financial difficulties, which saw its stock price hit a decade-low in 2024 due to lackluster sales of Star Wars Outlaws, analyst Van Dreunen expressed optimism. He suggested that if Shadows performs exceptionally well in terms of sales, it could significantly improve Ubisoft’s financial situation.

According to reports, Ubisoft is believed to be discussing business deals with possible partners as part of an effort to improve its situation, including Tencent. It’s been suggested that Ubisoft could consider selling certain game series, and Microsoft and EA are rumored to be involved in these discussions. However, Ubisoft has not yet made any official comments on the matter.

Discussions leading up to the release of Shadows have often centered on its multifaceted character roster. Elon Musk, a controversial entrepreneur, shared his thoughts, which was then addressed by Marc-Alexis Cote, an executive producer for Assassin’s Creed.

In Van Dreunen’s view, the back-and-forth interaction could enhance the game’s appeal. He remarked, “It’s essentially free publicity; it definitely adds intrigue for many gamers, I’d wager.

Recently, Ubisoft’s CEO, Yves Guillemot, criticized harmful and personally attacking comments directed at some of the company’s developers, without explicitly mentioning ‘Assassin’s Creed’.
