A little over a month has passed since Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the highly awaited addition to the Assassin’s Creed series, made its debut. The game has received generally favorable reviews and is thriving post-release. However, there hasn’t been much conversation about its future plans, aside from when one of its expansions, Claws of Awaji, was inadvertently leaked online.
Ubisoft has now acknowledged that there will indeed be DLC for this game; however, further details about post-release plans are still under wraps by the publisher. But recently, both the developer and publisher have shared a teaser, allowing players to put a date on their calendar to find out what’s next for Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

In January 2025, we revealed that the Steam page for Assassin’s Creed Shadows accidentally disclosed one DLC for the game, titled Claws of Awaji, before being removed. Later on, Ubisoft re-added it to the game, and in this expansion, players will hunt for hidden treasures while navigating dangerous traps and other perils. However, a release date has yet to be announced.
On the last day of this month, Ubisoft is expected to share details about the Claws of Awaji DLC for Assassin’s Creed Shadows. They announced in a social media post on April 23rd, 2025 that they will disclose their post-launch plans for the game then, so we can look forward to learning more soon!
1. As of now, it’s still undecided whether this will be a live stream or an update from the developers. Given that Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment have already shared the post-launch plan for Star Wars Outlaws before its release, it seems likely that we might get an update instead.
2. In a similar vein, Shadows could potentially include two to three DLCs, much like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. However, these plans are subject to change and we won’t know for sure until April 30th, 2025.
