As a longtime fan of Asmongold, I’ve come to appreciate not only his exceptional gaming skills but also his level-headedness and maturity in handling complex situations. This incident with the FBI bounty is yet another testament to his wisdom and grace under pressure.
According to Asmongold’s recent disclosure, the FBI reached out to him regarding a $30k bounty offer from another Twitch streamer. However, he decided against taking any further action in the matter.
On November 8th, while streaming, someone mentioned they’d come across a clip of a streamer offering a $30k bounty on me, and yet, it seemed they hadn’t faced any consequences. Initially, upon hearing this, I clarified that the person in question was merely kidding around.
Following a brief silence, he offered more details about the incident, saying, “The FBI reached out to me regarding that matter.” Elaborating on his decision-making process, he added, “I chose not to take any action because upon rewatching the video, I realized she was not referring to me, so it seemed pointless.
Initially, Asmon didn’t identify any particular individuals, but later a viewer implicated former Blizzard employee Mark Kern (also known as Grummz) as the intended recipient of a bounty. Streamer Denims had playfully proposed $30k to anyone capable of making Grummz “vanish” from sight.
Toneman, who offered the original $20k bounty on Grummz, was banned from X/Twitter as a result.
Asmon realized she hadn’t felt the need to pursue the topic since it didn’t seem to concern her, although there was a possibility others might view it differently.
In our recent chat, let’s rewind to when I, as a gamer, was engaged in a discussion about the suspension of streamer Central Committee on Twitch following their remarks regarding YouTuber and Kick content creator Destiny.
Regarding the subject matter, the Central Committee, often referred to as “Mike from PA,” expressed excitement saying, “Wow, folks! If you reside in Florida, I’ve got a fantastic chance for you. If your goal is to make $100k, just reach out to me.
Despite the uncertainty about the duration of the ban, it transpired later that they acknowledged the ban was justified, explaining their initial comment as a “joke.
Asmongold has had experiences with temporary bans due to his contentious remarks, notably receiving a two-week suspension from Twitch in October over his statements about the Palestine situation.
