The reviews for Assassin’s Creed Shadows have been released, and renowned Twitch broadcaster Asmongold has shared his initial thoughts, expressing that the aspect he finds most challenging is the combat system.

I’ve been diving deep into Assassin’s Creed: Shadow, the latest installment in Ubisoft’s sneaky series, and let me tell you, it’s been an engaging ride! There’s a bit of buzz surrounding Yasuke and how authentic the feudal Japan setting is, but overall, the game has been praised by critics.

Even though Assassin’s Creed Shadows is still new, YouTuber Asmon has already shared his initial thoughts, and he’s pointed out a significant concern that he thinks hinders the game.

I thought the game would be decent, and that’s roughly where it stands for me. The main issue I have with the game currently is that the combat feels quite one-dimensional, which is a noticeable difference compared to Rise of the Ronin. In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, there seems to be less depth in the combat.

As a dedicated gamer, I’ve dived into both Shadows and Rise of the Ronin. While Shadows offers some distinctive weapons and abilities for its pair of heroes, it’s Rise of the Ronin that really gets my adrenaline pumping with its intricate combat system. As our review points out, you’ve got to masterfully switch between Combat Styles, Martial Skills, and exploit enemy vulnerabilities using a variety of weapons for maximum impact.

Even with some minor complaints, there were no significant problems that stopped the streamer from having an enjoyable first three hours in Shadows.

The streamer found the story of the game to be acceptable – they didn’t feel particularly strongly about it either way. Yet, there was one aspect that caught their attention positively: the vast and immersive environments within the Shadows.

After delving into the initial expanse of the Izumi Coast, I must say the world’s ambiance and layout are quite impressive. There are certain elements that truly catch my eye, such as the secret caves hidden within. However, it was when I ventured through one such concealed cave and uncovered some legendary loot that my heart skipped a beat!
