Asmongold claims Twitch is stricter when banning Black male streamers compared to others, especially after the platform reinstated Nina Lin’s account.
Asmongold made the comments while watching a livestream on Boxing Day, reacting to Twitch lifting the suspension from Lin’s channel.
Twitch didn’t officially state why Nina Lin was banned for the third time this year, but many people think it was because she was accused of shoplifting from Target while live streaming.
RaKai, another streamer, faced a ban after being accused of shoplifting during a livestream. He allegedly took flowers and gave them to someone without paying.
Asmongold stated that after a creator was reinstated, the platform’s moderation seemed unfair, implying that Black male creators receive harsher penalties for similar actions.
Asmongold told his viewers that this situation shows how Twitch doesn’t seem to enforce its rules fairly. He noted that in the past, Black male streamers have often received harsher punishments – like longer or permanent bans – for things others were quickly forgiven for.
Asmongold strongly defended Rakai, claiming Twitch is unfairly targeting Black men after Nina Lins was unbanned. He stated, “Twitch treats Black men much more harshly, it’s very weird…”

The streamer explained that the issue isn’t just that things happen, but that there’s a clear bias. It feels like a double standard – some people, like RaKai, face consequences for their actions, while others, like Nina, don’t get punished at all.
Nina was allowed back before RaKai, even though they were both banned at the same time. It’s really strange how that happened.
Asmongold questions Twitch’s moderation
I’ve been following this closely, and it seems like the way the platform handles rule-breaking isn’t random. There are definite patterns in who gets penalized and who doesn’t, which makes me think there’s something wrong with the whole moderation system itself. It doesn’t feel like things are being handled fairly or consistently.
I’ve noticed a clear pattern: Twitch seems to be much stricter with minority users, particularly Black men, compared to other groups on the platform. It’s hard to ignore this difference in how people are treated.
I really need to gather all the proof I can find of Twitch doing this, because I’m sure there are at least ten instances of it happening.
Twitch hasn’t said anything publicly about lifting the ban on Lin. They usually don’t comment on specific bans, saying it’s about protecting people’s privacy and safety.
Lin proved she’d paid for the items she was accused of stealing by sharing a receipt from the day of the alleged theft during a live broadcast on Boxing Day.
Nina Lin was unbanned from Twitch and shared a Target receipt as proof that she paid for all the items she purchased, clarifying she didn’t steal anything. 😳👀

Nina has apologized for past interactions with DisguisedToast and Said, FaZe Silky’s assistant, which some people have described as sexual assault.
