Arthur Morgan just like Max Payne. New Red Dead Redemption 2 mod expands combat possibilities

In Red Dead Redemption 2, players can experience a sense of familiarity, as if they are the main characters from the original RDR (or Max Payne), skillfully evading adversaries through impressive roll maneuvers.

Enthusiasts of Rockstar Games’ online western setting are buzzing about the latest NPCs and trailer, yet devotees of the upcoming sequel have already discovered means to introduce fresh content or resurrect absent mechanics. For instance, “the combat roll” feature, which incorporates a Combat Roll mode into the gameplay.

In the first Red Dead Redemption game, this specific feature was present, but in its sequel, the developers opted for “dive” instead – catching some original fans off guard. Interestingly, it wasn’t until much later that a modder managed to reintroduce this feature into Red Dead Redemption 2, something fans had been looking forward to quite eagerly.

It’s important to note that this isn’t the first time the combat in the second Red Dead Redemption has been altered. A more ambitious modification, known as Rededrunk’s Ultimate Combat Overhaul, also garnered attention. As the name implies, Rededrunk’s mod significantly alters the combat mechanics. This isn’t just about adjusting player actions like shooting and melee combat, or managing stamina, but also enhancing enemy behavior and adding more realistic blood effects (though not so much as to transform RDR 2 into a graphic depiction of violence).
