The upcoming modification for the Pokémon Trading Card Game is titled “Triumphant Light”. Here’s a rundown of the latest information available: details on the cards, expected launch date, and a glimpse into how Ranked Battles will be structured.
In truth, the leaks are valid, and we’re about to witness another expansion for the Pokémon TCG Pocket – it won’t be long now since the last one. This time around, the spotlight shifts away from Palkia and Dialga towards their creator and the god of the Pokémon universe, the omnipotent Arceus.
During the Pokemon Day event, the details about the Triumphant Light expansion were unveiled together with the announcement of Pokemon Legends: Z-A. Here’s what we currently understand about the Triumphant Light expansion:

This translates to the following times depending on where you live:
February 27

February 28

The timings are set according to the release dates of previous expansions such as Space-Time Smackdown and Mythical Island, and they may be adjusted if necessary.
All cards
Here are all of the new cards being added with Triumphant Light that have been revealed so far:
- Arceus EX
- Leafeon EX
- Garchomp EX
- Glaceon EX
- Abomasnow
- Carnivine
- Croagunk
- Crobat
- Heatram
- Magnezone
- Raichu
- Rotom
- Shaymin
- Tyranitar
- Unown
- Adaman
- Irida
The growth we’re seeing is not going to be overly extensive; instead, it’s going to be roughly the same scale as Mythical Island, with Space-Time Smackdown still dwarfing it in size.
In this upcoming expansion, Arceus is set to take center stage, despite initial player criticism upon its leak, as many felt it was underpowered given its status as the deity of the Pokémon universe.
He will be accompanied by a variety of thrilling EX cards such as Leafeon, Garchomp, and Glaceon, offering you much to anticipate. Additionally, two new trainer cards have been confirmed: Adaman and Irida from Legends Arceus are set to join the Pocket TCG.

Ranked Battles
With this update, players will have an opportunity to engage in competitive matches against each other, known as Ranked Battles.
As a gamer, it’s not entirely clear yet how the Ranked Battles will play out, but based on my experience with games like Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, it appears that a similar ranking or level system might be in place.
Additionally, it’s anticipated that you’ll have the opportunity to garner a variety of benefits by participating, with these rewards becoming more substantial as your rank improves. This primary motivation for dedicating time to crafting your deck effectively and staying abreast of the current meta will be to win as numerous games as you can.
