Arcadion M2 Guide – Honey B Lovely Raid Mechanics In FFXIV

As a dedicated Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV) player, I have been eagerly anticipating the release of the Arcadion Normal Raids since their announcement as part of the Dawntrail Patch 7.01. The arrival of Match 2 (M2), featuring the enchanting Honey B. Lovely, has not disappointed me in the slightest!

In Final Fantasy XIV’s Dawntrail Update 7.01, the Arcadion Normal Raid series made its debut, introducing four new raids, which were nicknamed the “AAC Light-heavyweight matches.” This guide will focus on Match 2 (M2) of the Arcadion raids in FFXIV, showcasing the encounter with Sweet Poison: Honey B Lovely.

How To Unlock Arcadion M2

In order to access the normal raids of Arcadion, a player needs to have successfully finished the earlier Arcadian raid involving the Black Cat as a requirement.

Metem will then give the player the quest Sweet Poison, unlocking the M2 Arcadion Raid.

Arcadion M2 Guide

Here are the moves that players can expect from the Honey B Lovely:

Call Me Honey: Raid-wide magical damage.

As a gamer, I’d describe it like this: When facing off against the boss, be prepared for an enticing yet potentially dangerous twist. You’ll notice rotating spears encircling the boss, signaling a donut-shaped Area of Effect (AoE) attack. To dodge this attack, keep a safe distance from the boss and stay outside its targeting circle.

As a long-time fan of MMORPG games, I’ve seen my fair share of unique abilities and attacks. One that recently caught my attention is Honey B. Lovely’s Drop of Venom. This skill is unlike anything I’ve encountered before.

Above the boss, a semicircle of rotating spears will emerge as a sign of an area-of-effect (AoE) attack that involves a line. This line AoE has a broader reach than it seems, so it’s advisable to maintain some distance to avoid being hit.

Should Honey B. Lovely pre-emptively unleash her Splash of Venom ability, the scene will be adorned with yellow poison blobs following the execution of the move. Subsequently, these blobs detonate, releasing circular areas of effect.

When using Conal tankbusters, I need to make sure I’m aiming it at the tanks and not my party members.

During Honey B. Live’s raid, magical damage spreads across the whole team before altering the stage. Simultaneously, each player is awarded with three blank heart symbols above their character. Each time a player gets struck by any attack while this gauge is active, an additional heart symbol will appear.

  • 1 Heart: The player is Infatuated, and will suffer from light damage over time.
  • 2 Hearts: The player is Head Over Heels, and will suffer from moderate damage over time.
  • 3 Hearts: The player has Hopeless Devotion for Honey B. Lovely, and will suffer from heavy damage over time. Additionally, they will be stunned for 5 seconds, after which their heart gauge will reset.

Love Me Tender: This has numerous effects based on when it is used

  • A Spread Marker appears on each player dealing magical damage and increasing the heart gauge by one.
  • Four towers will spawn that must be soaked by at most 1 player. The soaking player will have their heart gauge increase by one. Failure to do so will increase everyone’s gauge by 1.
  • Numerous hearts will spawn from the boss and move outwards, as well as spawn from outside and move in. At the same time, various circle AoE attacks will happen in the stage. Avoid all these attacks.
  • Nine circle AoE attacks will spawn around the stage, and arrive at the center. Stand at the center and move to the first circle AoE once it is goes off.
  • Two stack markers will appear. Players must split evenly, as having less than four players in each stack will cause random players to receive two hearts instead of one.

Loveseeker: Point-blank circular AoE centered at the boss.

Blow Kiss: Frontal cone AoE attack.

Honey B. Finale: Raid-wide magical damage. Reverts the arena and removes the heart gauge.

Splash/Drop of Venom: Honey B. Lovely empowers her next attack Tempting Twist or Honey Beeline.

As a devoted fan, I’d describe it this way: When Groupbee adds appear outside the arena, you’ll notice green arrows pointing the way. Be cautious as these indicate area-of-effect (AoE) alarms, which you should steer clear of to keep yourself safe.

Initially, Alarm Pheromones’ release will cause Groupbees to appear in a circular pattern around the stage. Subsequently, multiple Groupbees will materialize in one specific quadrant of the stage. Following this, several Area-of-Effect lines will activate simultaneously through the center of the stage.

In the future, the use of Alarm Pheromones won’t result in their appearance following a set sequence on the stage. Instead, they will emerge in unpredictable locations.

All of the above mechanics will repeat until the boss is defeated.
