Okay, so Arc Raiders blew up last year, and the team at Embark isn’t slowing down! They’ve hinted at a bunch of new maps coming soon, and they’re planning to share a full roadmap of what’s next for the game. I’m really excited to see where they take it!
Arc Raiders will receive several new maps this year, varying in size to support different playstyles. According to design lead Virgil Watkins, some maps will be smaller while others will be larger than the current ones.
Watkins didn’t reveal exactly what the new maps will include, but he explained the goal is to create unique experiences. This could involve changing map conditions, weather, enemy types, or the quality of loot found there, all to make gameplay feel fresh and different.
Regarding future updates for Arc Raiders, Watkins indicated they’re coming “soon.” The team at Embark is currently developing new weapons, goals, and enemies, alongside additional maps.
Embark recently wrapped up its ‘Cold Snap’ event in Arc Raiders and shared some fun stats. Players threw enough snowballs to knock out a whopping 91 million opponents, though they only managed to take down around 11,000 enemies with them!
Arc Raiders has sold 12.4 million copies and generated hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue. A recent update to the game adjusted the power of some weapons and added new cosmetic items.
