Arc Raiders, a popular online shooter released in 2025, has unfortunately seen an increase in cheating. Players who follow the rules complained about unfair gameplay, so the game’s developer, Embark Studios, is now adding new anti-cheat tools to the game.
Hey everyone, I just wanted to share an update on the cheating situation in Arc Raiders. The devs are taking it really seriously, and they’ve been listening to all our feedback. Over the next few weeks, they’re planning some big changes – they’re tweaking the rules, adding new ways to detect cheaters, and banning them faster. They’re also updating the anti-cheat system to be better at spotting them, and fixing that glitch that lets people go out of bounds. Plus, they’re giving streamers some tools to help deal with stream sniping, which is awesome. It’s good to see them responding so quickly!
Embark Studios hasn’t announced a specific timeline for its anti-cheat system. However, CEO Patrick Söderlund recently explained that Arc Raiders now uses a matchmaking system that considers how often players engage in combat with each other. While skill level still plays a role in finding matches, the game also pairs players together based on their tendency to fight.
Arc Raiders recently reached its highest number of daily players, with 3.2 million people playing. During the recent holiday season, it was also the most-played game on Steam. Interestingly, one player’s calls for help within the game led to a real-life rescue attempt when a neighbor, thinking they were in danger, tried to break down their door to help!
