Arc Raiders is now actively banning players caught using cheats like aimbots, responding to recent reports of widespread hacking.
Arc Raiders had a very popular launch, but developers have been dealing with players who cheat. When streamers pointed out the problem and compared it to issues in Call of Duty, Embark Studios promised to make big improvements to how they catch cheaters.
It looks like action is finally being taken against cheaters. Players who are caught using cheats are now receiving temporary 30-day bans, along with a message explaining the suspension is due to violating the game’s code of conduct.
Players who cheat for the first time will receive a warning. If they cheat again, their computer will be permanently banned from playing Arc Raiders.
The team has begun banning cheaters, but currently, bans are only lasting 30 days. Reports indicate a first offense results in a 30-day suspension, while a second offense leads to a hardware ban. Players are asking for permanent bans for cheaters and want ARCRaidersGame to take a stricter stance.

Arc Raiders players want permanent bans for cheaters
Although this is a good start, many players believe the punishments aren’t strong enough and want offenders permanently banned.
“If they’re cheating then why isn’t it permanent?” asked one player on Reddit.
One user on X called for a permanent, hardware-level ban, saying too many game developers allow cheaters to simply create new accounts and continue playing after being caught.
Dear Cheaters, the reckoning has begun. Have fun trying to make up that Expedition progression.

Embark Studios hasn’t publicly explained how they handle cheaters, but some players believe legal issues might prevent them from permanently banning them.
Unlike games like Warzone and Overwatch which are free to play, Arc Raiders costs money to buy. Because players purchase Arc Raiders, there might be more legal restrictions around permanently banning someone from a game they’ve paid for, depending on the country.
This demonstrates that the Arc Raiders developers are committed to addressing cheating. The recent ban wave follows a game update that prevents PC players from using console commands to gain an unfair advantage, such as seeing in the dark.
