Arc Raiders A First Foothold Quest Guide

Arc Raiders’ quests usually involve completing a few tasks within a single area, but some require you to travel across the entire map to finish. “A First Foothold” is a particularly long one, sending you to four different points scattered across Blue Gate – one in each corner of the map. It’s a challenging journey, but we’ll guide you through it.

You don’t have to complete everything in one go – you can spread the tasks out over several visits if that’s easier. Plus, you don’t need to collect anything to make progress, so you can use a disposable loadout without worrying about losing valuable gear.

Here’s how to finish all four requirements to complete A First Foothold.

Stabilize the observation deck near the Ridgeline

As a player, I’ve found the Ridgeline – it’s on the east side of Blue Gate – to be a pretty chill spot. Honestly, it’s way calmer than the center of the map, so it feels like a safe haven when you’re trying to complete the quest. It’s a nice break from all the chaos!

You’ll find the observation deck at the edge of the map. Use one of the prompts there to secure the structure, and then you can move on to your next goal.

Enable the comms terminal near the Olive Grove

The Olive Grove is in the southern part of Blue Gate. It’s a busy farming area, known for its olive production, so expect to see people around. It’s best to be cautious and even try being friendly if you encounter any raiders.

The communications terminal is located on a platform in the western part of this area. Use the computer there to finish this step, and then move on to the next location.

Nail down the roof plates on the Raider structure near Trapper’s Glade

Trapper’s Glade is in the western part of Blue Gate, and it can be a dangerous place. Bombardiers and other robotic enemies regularly patrol the area, so approach with caution and consider sneaking to avoid them.

Look for the Raider base hidden among the trees on the map, right under where it says “Trapper’s.” Climb onto the roof and secure the plates, then head to your next goal.

Rotate the satellite dishes on the church roof, north of the Data Vault

The church roof is in the northern part of Blue Gate. Because it’s high up in the hills, away from the main action, it’s usually very peaceful. You might occasionally see another player doing the same quest, so it’s a good idea to be friendly if you do.

Climb onto the church roof using the scaffolding. Once you’re at the top, interact with the satellite to finish this part of the mission. If you still have other tasks to complete, go take care of those. Otherwise, you’ve completed ‘A First Foothold’!
