As a seasoned baseball enthusiast who has spent countless hours under the summer sun at ball parks across America, I can hardly contain my excitement for Apple TV+’s upcoming docuseries on the 2024 World Series! Filming for the show has begun. It promises an intimate, backstage look at the contending teams gunning for the Major League Baseball (MLB) title, featuring candid conversations with athletes, trainers, reporters, spectators, and their loved ones.

The show is being created through a collaboration between MLB, its MLB Studios division, and Imagine Documentaries. R.J. Cutler, a multiple Emmy winner, is overseeing direction and production under his This Machine label, which operates within Sony Pictures Television. Additionally, five-time World Series champion Derek Jeter is also serving as an executive producer through Cap 2 Productions. Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, Nick Trotta, Justin Wilkes, Sara Bernstein, Marc Gilbar, Mark Blatty, Trevor Smith, and Justin Yungfleisch are also among the executive producers of this project.

Every Friday during the regular season, Apple TV+ serves as the unique platform for “Friday Night Baseball,” offering a weekly double-feature streamed each week.

Currently, as we speak, the New York Yankees are ahead of the Cleveland Guardians by two games to none in the American League Championship Series, and the Los Angeles Dodgers hold a slight edge over the New York Mets with a score of 2-1 in the National League Championship Series.

Under the Apple TV+ banner, the most recent sports documentary has been released. Additionally, the streaming service of the tech giant is broadcasting “The Dynasty: New England Patriots,” another production by Imagine Documentaries, as well as “Messi’s World Cup: The Rise of a Legend” and “Stephen Curry: Underrated.” Apple TV+ is also working on an unnamed film about the life and career of Lewis Hamilton, a Formula One world champion.
