As an enthusiastic Apple fan, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news about Apple’s future gaming strategies! According to recent reports, Apple is planning a major overhaul in their gaming approach, aiming to entice more users to enjoy games across their device lineup. The intriguing part? They’re working on a game-focused app that will be compatible with all Apple devices, timed perfectly with the global release of the Nintendo Switch 2 consoles!
The report follows Apple’s recent acquisition of RAC7, a two-person game development studio responsible for the hit game Sneaky Sasquatch on Apple Arcade. According to Digital Trends, this move has been confirmed. An Apple representative commented that they are fond of Sneaky Sasquatch and thrilled about the addition of the RAC7 team to Apple, who will continue developing the game alongside them. As they strive to deliver top-notch experiences to users through Apple Arcade, they aim to offer a diverse selection of exceptional gaming titles from talented developers and studios worldwide.
As a passionate gamer, I’m thrilled to hear that I might soon have a new gaming destination on my Apple devices! It seems they are planning to introduce an exclusive app aimed squarely at us gamers, hoping to convince us that when it comes to gaming, Apple leads the pack.

On May 27th, 2025, a new Apple report from Mark Gurman of Bloomberg revealed Apple’s upcoming move to introduce a standalone gaming app. This app, set to be available on all Apple devices by default, is intended to showcase Apple as a dominant force in the video game market, appealing to gamers, developers, and publishers alike.
This “specialized application” boasts certain features as reported by Bloomberg, such as a game launcher – possibly incorporating Apple Arcade titles – offering achievements, leaderboards, and additional gaming-related functions. Sources close to the story suggest that this upcoming gaming app will also provide exclusive news from Apple, direct access to the App Store, promoting the Apple Arcade subscription service, among other things. Regrettably, it seems this new gaming app will supersede the existing Game Center app.
At the upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on the 9th of June 2025, Apple plans to unveil a new app. This event can be streamed live on the Apple website, Apple TV app, and its YouTube channel. Notably, this reveal will follow closely after the global launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, which is set for release on the 5th of June 2025.
