Apocalyptic Shadow V2.7 Gusty Primate Guide

Alright, listen up folks, as someone who’s spent countless hours in the battlefield, I can tell you that this Blaznana’s Monkey Trick is no walk in the park! But fear not, for I’ve been through the grind, and here’s my two cents on how to tackle it.

In the updated version 2.7, the Apocalyptic Shadow has been changed to the Gusty Simian. This new iteration introduces encounters with characters Cocolia and the Blaznana Monkey Trick.

Current Buff in Apocalyptic Shadow V2.7

  • When an enemy unit with “Steadfast Safeguard” aka Cocolia and Blaznana Monkey Trick is Weakness Broken, action advances all allies and recover Skill Points.
    • The Skill Points recovered are 5 SP. If you bring Sparkle in the team and Weakness Break the enemy, your SP will recover from 1 to 6 SP (out of 7 SP)
  • Increases Weakness Break DMG taken by all enemies by 20%.
  • Increases Follow-up ATK DMG taken by all enemies by 20%.
    • Based on the two buffs above, it’s obvious this AP is suitable for Follow-Up team like Feixiao or Jing Yuan as the Main DPS & Break team with Firefly or Rappa as the Main DPS.

Boss Trait

  1. Boss Mirage takes 50% less DMG. After Weakness is broken and action gets additionally delayed, additionally increases DMG taken by 100%.
  2. Boss Mirage will transmit its own Weakness Type to the summon. After any one of its summons is defeated, the summon’s Weakness Type will be returned to the Boss Mirage.
  3. Boss Mirage will launch a follow-up single target attack on the summon’s locked on target, with a chance to Freeze or Imprison the target.

Boss Trait: Steadfast Safeguard

When Cocolia isn’t weakened, it absorbs 50% less damage compared to normal. However, once weakness is broken and its action gets delayed, it will also take 100% more damage.

Boss Trait: Battlefield Transfer

Initially, Cocolia will conjure just two ice blades. Upon their appearance, Cocolia transfers her vulnerabilities to these blades – one is weak against Fire and Lightning elements, while the other is vulnerable to Wind and Quantum. At this point, Cocolia becomes immune to any Weakness Break since she no longer has any weaknesses herself. However, if you manage to defeat the ice blades, her original vulnerabilities will revert back to her, along with a slight reduction in her overall toughness.

During the second stage, Cocolia is expected to conjure up four icy blades. Once these four blades have materialized, each one will acquire one of Cocolia’s vulnerabilities.

Boss Trait: Nowhere to Escape

The ice blade leaves a mark on one character. When Cocolia activates her single-target ability, if there’s a marked character, she follows up with an attack. This becomes more problematic in the second phase because there are now four ice blades, which means four marked characters, and consequently, four follow-up attacks by Cocolia.

Boss Trait: Tenacious Resolve

The more weakness types an enemy has, the more damage they will take per point of damage you inflict on them. For instance, if Cocolia has only one weakness, she’ll sustain low damage. However, as soon as Cocolia regains all four weaknesses, the amount of damage she takes will be greater.

Challenge Strategy

Defeat the 2 summons to return the Weakness

During the fight, when Cocolia calls upon her ice blades, it’s crucial for you to concentrate on one of the summoned beings, switching between them if you have area-of-effect damage skills. For your main DPS, focus on the minion that possesses the Weakness Type associated with it. Once the first minion falls, its Weakness will shift to Cocolia.

Defeat Gepard before he can create a shield

First attack > Additional attack > Second attack > Shield creation.

If Gepard constructs a barrier, rather than assaulting Cocolia or her summon, the ability Weakness Break Gepard allows you to swiftly shatter his shield (regardless of the percentage remaining). You can then go back to vanquishing summons and Cocolia.

Defeat the 4 summons to return the Weakness

As soon as you move into the second phase, give your undivided attention to eliminating all the ice shards. Remember, it’s best not to attempt an attack on Cocolia unless she’s in her ‘Weakness Broken’ state, as she will barely sustain any damage otherwise.

Hinder Cocolia from using her Ultimate

Her Ultimate move is called Last Choir of Genesis. She will first trigger The Creation’s Prelude to enters the Charging state. Her next action will release the Ultimate move. This attack deals huge damage and also have a high chance to Imprison your character.

She’ll consistently employ the Ultimate move, one following another, which means if your team lacks a robust healer or durable shield character, one of yours might succumb to the onslaught.

To prevent Cocolia from deploying Ultimate, you need to break her weakness. Essentially, this means defeating the ice blades she wields first. After that, focus on lowering her Toughness Bar by attacking relentlessly. Once her weakness is broken, she will become more vulnerable and take significantly more damage. Continue attacking as much as possible to stand a chance of defeating her before she recovers.

Boss Trait

  1. All enemy takes 50% less DMG. After the Boss’ Weakness is broken, Weakness Breaks all the enemy units and causes its action to be delayed, and the DMG it receives increases by 100%.
  2. Breaking enemy weakness can significantly reduce Boss’ Toughness. When all enemies are Weakness Broekn, attaking any enemies will also reduce Boss’ Toughness.
  3. After the enemy gets attacked a certain number of times (stackable) or has their Toughness reduced, they will be inflicted with Weakness Break, granting a chance for “Off-Class Channel.”

Boss Trait: Steadfast Safeguard

In this scenario, the boss’s health bar (not individual mob health bars) is being referred to. The boss initially takes 50% less damage. When the weakness of the boss is broken and an action is delayed, not only does the boss increase its own damage taken by 100%, but it also increases the damage that it inflicts on you by the same amount. To break the boss’s Weakness, you must first break the Toughness Bar of all five mobs.

Boss Trait: United Front

In the Classroom Channel, all enemy units receive a 50% reduction in damage and have the Switch Tally (marked in the image above). To put it simply, when the face on the TV appears angry, that’s the Classroom Channel.

Concerning the Switch Tally, you can increase it by attacking your opponents, causing them to move from the Classroom Channel to the Off-Class Channel. Keep in mind that each enemy has a unique number of Switch Tallies (some require 3, 4, 5, or 8 hits).

Boss Trait: Tally Loss

At the start of each round, an enemy unit’s Switch Tally will decrease by one. So, if any enemy within the Classroom Channel attacks you, they will lower their Switch Tally count from, say, 5 out of 8, to 4 out of 8.

Boss Trait: SPD Boost

Boosts Speed for “End-of-Semester Dinner” event becomes active during the second phase, as indicated in your action sequence. This powerful attack is exclusively employed by the Boss character, showcasing their ultimate ability.

Challenge Strategy

AoE attacks are the best against these enemies

In each combat, the opponent’s units can be categorized as either ‘School Environment’ or ‘Extra-Curricular Environment’. Initially, during battle, the opponents will have the ‘School Environment’, but by using abilities that inflict Area of Effect Attack (specifically Blast Attack), you can accumulate ‘Switch Points’ against multiple enemies. When a point threshold is reached, the opponents will switch from ‘School Environment’ to ‘Extra-Curricular Environment’. This change grants your team various beneficial effects.

Classroom Channel affects your team’s capabilities

When any of the enemy in Classroom Channel attacks you, the DMG is not that much but what matter most is they reduce your team’s capability.
Charmony BananAdvisor – Deal DMGDreamweaver BananAdvisor – Advances all enemy unit’s actionsFortune BananAdvisor – Reduces 2 Skill PointsAssistanana – Causes all target’s Energy to be reduced

Get the enemies to enter Off-Class Channel

Whenever an enemy steps into the Off-Class Channel (accumulate Switch Tally by attacking them), they will provide your party with a beneficial effect instead. Here’s a recap of those effects:

Prioritize utilizing the Dreamweaver BananAdvisor for its significant impact on advancing your team’s actions. Simultaneously, ensure the regular use of Assistantanna to prevent your characters from depleting too much Energy, particularly when your team heavily depends on Ultimate abilities.

Reduce Blaznana’s Monkey Trick Toughness Bar

Blaznana’s Monkey Trick is the main event and consists of one elite foe alongside four lesser minions. To lower the Boss’ Durability Meter, you must Cause a Weakness in any of the five adversaries. Once all enemies have been weakened, striking any enemy will also decrease the Boss’ Durability Meter.

Facing the End-of-Semester Dinner

The End-of-Semester Dinner is a significant event that occurs only in the second phase of an action sequence. It’s unstoppable, meaning you can’t slow it down even by Weakness Breaking all enemies. Therefore, you must prepare to confront it.
