Is Half-Life 3 in the making? Some suggest it could be in its final stages of development – but while we wait, there’s something new to experience. Half-Life 2 RTX is here, bringing the legendary game that’s captivated millions into a whole new light with full ray tracing, ultra-detailed textures, high-poly models, and stunning 4K visuals.

So, “Wake up, Mr. Freeman. Wake up and… smell the ashes” once more.

Half-Life 2 RTX: a visual masterpiece (if your PC survives)

Half-Life 2 RTX, created by Orbifold Studios, is out today, bringing City 17 to life like never before. This stunning overhaul, powered by RTX Remix, features full ray tracing, AI-enhanced RTX Neural Rendering, the fluid performance of NVIDIA DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation, and ultra-responsive gameplay with NVIDIA Reflex. Keep in mind that this is a mod – you’ll need to own Half-Life 2 on Steam to play it. Plus, it’s just a demo featuring two chapters of the game.

Yeah, can’t wait to freak out in full 4K while Barnacles slowly drag me to my doom, or keep getting wrecked in the Strider battle on repeat. Just need to make sure, that my PC will handle it.

Would love to see the recommended requirements, especially since early feedback isn’t looking great. Seems like a bunch of players are already running into the blue screen of death and errors with Half-Life 2 RTX.
