Anne Rice’s ‘Talamasca’ Series at AMC Adds William Fichtner to Cast (EXCLUSIVE)

As a seasoned movie critic with over three decades of film-watching under my belt, I can confidently say that William Fichtner is a versatile actor who has graced our screens with a variety of memorable roles. From his explosive performance in “Armageddon” to his chilling portrayal of General Shepherd in “24,” he’s proven time and again that he can sink his teeth into any role.

Actor William Fichtner has been selected for a role in AMC’s forthcoming series that revolves around the enigmatic Talamasca organization, which is prominently mentioned in the novels of Anne Rice.

It’s been confirmed solely by EbMaster that Fichtner is set to become a main cast member in the series, Jasper. He will be sharing screen time with the previously announced lead actor, Nicholas Denton.

Back in 2023, news broke out that “The Talamasca” series was being planned by AMC. In June of 2024, AMC officially gave the project a go-ahead. They’ve now ordered six episodes, and production is scheduled to start next month in Manchester, England. The show will make its debut on both AMC and AMC+ in 2025.

The tagline for this series indicates that it centers around individuals who chase and manage supernatural beings such as witches, vampires, and various creatures found worldwide.

The character Jasper is described as “a mysterious American who has quietly assumed control and influence over the Talamasca’s London Motherhouse. Though his motives and methods are cloaked in shadow, his charm and righteous sense of purpose are as dangerous as the power he’s pursuing.”

Fichtner boasts an acting career on-screen that stretches close to four decades. He’s featured in popular movies such as “Armageddon,” “Crash,” “Heat,” “The Dark Knight,” and “Black Hawk Down,” while also appearing in TV shows like “Mom,” “Prison Break,” “Entourage,” and “Crossing Lines.

He is represented by Innovative Artists, Thruline Entertainment, Principal Entertainment Los Angeles, and Sloane, Offer & Associates.

The Talamasca” is found within Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe on AMC, as the network obtained the rights to her popular book series, “The Vampire Chronicles” and “The Lives of the Mayfair Witches,” which consist of 18 books combined. Adaptations for “Interview With the Vampire” and “Mayfair Witches” have already aired.

As a devoted movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that I, along with John Lee Hancock and Mark Lafferty, will be serving as executive producers and co-showrunners for “The Talamasca.” Not only that, but Hancock himself will be directing the series. Additionally, Mark Johnson, under his deal with AMC Studios, will also serve as an executive producer. With this role, he’ll have oversight of all shows within the Anne Rice Immortal Universe, making it a truly captivating universe to explore!
