As a long-time animation enthusiast and someone who has followed the industry closely for years, I can’t help but feel exhilarated by the news of “Spermageddon” being acquired for France by Originals Factory. This quirky, irreverent animated sex musical comedy has truly stood out among this year’s Annecy Film Festival titles, and it’s not hard to see why.
The Norwegian animated comedy with sexual themes and music, titled “Spermageddon,” which gained significant attention at this year’s Annecy Film Festival, has been purchased for French distribution.
The distributor, Originals Factory, which brought us films such as “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” “The Whale,” and “20 Days in Mariupol,” has acquired the rights to another film that premiered last month. Charades had previously managed its sales.

They have demonstrated their courage and creativity in bringing unconventional indie cinema to theaters, particularly appealing to young adults. At the same time, they excel in generating substantial revenue from various sources.”
Charades’ film “Spermageddon” has been widely marketed and sold to various production companies. It has been bought by Square One Entertainment in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria; Youplanet Pictures in Spain; MCF Megacom in the Adriatics and Bulgaria; Film Europe in the Czech Republic and Slovakia; Prorom Distribution in Hungary and Romania; Exponenta in the CIS; Acme Film in the Baltics; Creative Century Entertainment in Taiwan; Shinesaeng Ad.Venture in Thailand; Shaw Organization in Singapore; and SF Studio for release in the Nordic countries and Iceland. The Nordic premiere is scheduled for January 10, 2025.
