Animated Feature ‘Mission Granny’ Boarded by Global Constellation, First Look Unveiled (EXCLUSIVE)

International distribution rights for the forthcoming computer-generated (CG) family animation titled “Mission Granny” have been acquired by Global Constellation. This production, boasting a budget of 10 million Euros ($11.3 million USD), has been given an exclusive sneak peek by the company to EbMaster.

As a movie enthusiast, I’m excited to share that the upcoming film I’ll be watching is produced by the same team behind “Marnie’s World” and “The 7th Dwarf.” Moreover, it’s brought to life by the animation studios known for creating magical worlds in “The Ogglies,” “My Fairy Troublemaker,” and “Giants of La Mancha.” The director is none other than Toni Weiss.

In “Mission Granny,” we find ourselves accompanying siblings Paul, 8, and Kat, 12, as they are sent to stay with their extremely disciplined grandma for a period of four months. To their surprise, they uncover that their seemingly ordinary granny was once an elite secret agent! However, when her former friend turned enemy kidnaps her, the responsibility falls on Paul and Kat to work together, equip themselves, and save the day using spy techniques. They must undergo intense training, pursue villains, and halt a satellite-controlled vaporizer before it annihilates their mother’s space station – all before they tuck themselves into bed for the night.

In their statement, Global Constellation described ‘Mission Granny’ as an exhilarating journey brimming with humor, emotion, and pulse-pounding action, featuring a truly formidable grandmother. This movie is the type that unites all generations.

The movie is scheduled to be released during the first quarter of 2028, and a sneak peek will be revealed later in 2022 at the American Film Market.

The film titled “Mission Granny” was penned by Regine Anour, Andreas Schmied, and John Hoernschemeyer, and brought to life through the production efforts of Loredana Rehekampff (for Samsara Filmproduktion in Austria) and Jan Bonath (for White Spot Films in Germany).

The movie belongs to Global Constellation’s expanding collection of animated films designed for families, alongside titles such as “The Last Whale Singer,” “The Growcodile,” “The Last Dinosaur,” and “Carmen.” Each of these productions aims to captivate global cinema-going audiences.

Under the brand name Playtime, which is part of the multinational Vuelta Group – a European film conglomerate that oversees activities like production, distribution, and sales across various regions – Global Constellation functions.
