AEW wrestler Darby Allin had a strange experience in Tucson: his Uber driver unexpectedly stopped the car and left him on the side of the road while Allin was doing an interview.
Darby Allin is known as a fearless performer in wrestling, constantly pushing boundaries with his dangerous stunts. However, he recently encountered an unexpected challenge: an Uber driver who was exhausted and easily frustrated.
On February 26th, Darby was riding in an Uber and giving an interview to Rock 102.1 KFMA using his phone.
The situation quickly escalated when the driver unexpectedly attacked the AEW wrestler, and it became a heated confrontation.
Darby Allin stranded on highway after Uber ride goes sideways
While Darby was talking to the radio hosts, the driver complained that it was impolite to be on speakerphone during the ride.
The wrestler asked if he could finish what he was doing, hoping to reach a compromise, but the driver refused to agree.
Honestly, I’m exhausted. I’ve been on the road since five this morning, and it’s getting to me. Could you please put your phone away? It feels a bit disrespectful when you’re on it while I’m driving.
Even though the radio hosts defended Allin and criticized the driver’s actions, he wouldn’t listen to them.
The driver scoffed, saying, “I earn about fifteen dollars an hour, so I don’t really care.” He then asked the wrestler, “Are you his sponsor or something?”
The driver, frustrated with the situation, ultimately kicked Allin out of the car, despite the fact that they were on a busy highway, as Allin pointed out.
“Get out of my car!” he screamed, leaving the wrestler in the middle of nowhere.
KFMA explained on Facebook that the incident occurred unexpectedly and without any prior indication.
To be honest, if you’re familiar with Darby, this really isn’t surprising. Wrestling interviews are always unpredictable, anyway.
Because Darby is a professional wrestler, it’s possible the situation with the Uber was staged, though he hasn’t suggested that’s the case. He simply posted the video to Instagram with the caption, ‘kicked out of Uber mid-interview.’
People have had different reactions to what happened, with some thinking it was a planned performance and others believing it was genuine.
Someone commented that Darby is fortunate to have avoided a privacy breach, joking that if it were them, their Uber ride details would likely end up publicly available.
“I hope this is a skit. Otherwise, that driver is crazy,” another remarked.
Lmao I hope this is a skit. Otherwise that driver is crazy…

This isn’t the first instance of a ride-share driver gaining attention for negative behavior. Back in 2023, an Uber driver kicked a TikTok user out of the car, leaving him stranded in a snowstorm.
A woman found herself stuck after an Uber driver ended the ride while her boyfriend was canceling it, leaving her stranded.
