In a nutshell, the movie titled “Stitches” chronicles the intense, life-or-death experiences of American director Maxine (played by Jolie) as she lands in Paris for Fashion Week. Filming for this project is happening live in the city of love, Paris.
The crew features cinematographer Andre Chemetoff, costume designer Pascaline Chavanne, and set designer Florian Sanson.
I’m thrilled to share that I’m admiring the collaboration between Charles Gillibert of CG Cinéma, Zhang Xin and William Horberg of Closer Media, and Bob Xu, who is serving as an executive producer on this exciting project. Pathé Films, a company that has previously partnered with Winocour for her Cannes Directors’ Fortnight premiere “Revoir Paris,” will be handling the distribution in France, making this a truly promising venture!
UTA Independent Film Group arranged the financing for ‘Stiches,’ and they’re also managing global and North American distribution rights. HanWay Films is taking care of international sales, while Chanel and France 3 Cinéma are co-producing the project. Extra funding comes from La Région Île-de-France, Canal+, Ciné+, OCS, and France Télévisions.
Winocour is symbolized by both UTA (United Talent Agency) and UBBA (United Bank of Broadcasting and Advertising). On the other hand, Jolie is associated with WME (William Morris Endeavor Entertainment) and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole.
Jolie’s latest production, titled “Maria,” is generating Oscar speculation due to her powerful portrayal of the renowned opera artist Maria Callas. Directed by Pablo Larraín, this drama focuses on the final days of Callas’ life before her untimely death from a heart attack at age 53 in 1977. This film made its debut at the Venice Film Festival.
At the Los Angeles debut of “Maria” in October, Jolie reminisced about her initial singing lesson for the movie. “I remember walking into a room with a piano, and someone said, ‘Alright, let’s assess your current level.’ And I became quite emotional,” she shared. “I took a deep breath, made a sound, and started crying.” She added, “I believe we often underestimate the emotions and burdens we harbor within us, and how they impact our tone, our voice, and our capacity to produce sound.
