In Season 2 of Andor, Ghorman is a significant locale, and there’s a straightforward explanation as to why its language remains elusive to us.
In the lead-up to the happenings depicted in Rogue One, Season 2 has delved into a planet named Ghorman instead.
In Episodes 1-3, we discovered Director Krennic’s ominous schemes that trace back to a World War II conference where the Nazi concept of a ‘Final Solution’ was conceived.
During Episodes 4-6, we observe the execution of these strategies by characters like Syril Karn, Dedra Meero, and the Ghormans, who are on both sides of the conflict. Meanwhile, the planet’s unique dialect is used to convey events as they unfold.
The inspiration for the Ghorman language explained

The viewers won’t be able to comprehend the Ghorman language since it was entirely invented by Marina Tyndall, the dialect coach for Andor. As stated on StarWars.com, “the Ghorman language can only be translated if one understands its spoken form.
Two distinct forms of the written Ghorman language, namely Ghorelle (also known as High Ghorman) and Dixian (referred to as Low Ghorman), were developed by the Andor graphic design team members Elle McKee and Lauren Dix.
Although the language in the series seems grounded in realism, it’s important to note that it draws inspiration from French and Italian, both of which were home to revolutionaries during World War II who share similarities with the freedom fighters portrayed in the show.
Previously, “Andor” showrunner Tony Giroloy discussed the development of planet Ghorman, explaining how various features were blended to create a believable setting within the series, with catastrophe and sorrow swiftly looming on the horizon.
Gilroy mentioned to IGN that we’re planning to create another intricate, elaborate world complete with its own language, economy, and more. This project is costly, he explained, and necessitates a minimum of five episodes for it to be worth the investment. It’s a crucial aspect of our series, and we aim to make it as emotionally impactful and dramatic as possible, focusing on both its heartbreak and importance.
