Anderson Cooper is leaving his position as a correspondent on 60 Minutes after nearly two decades. He said it’s been a huge honor to work on the show, telling incredible stories alongside talented colleagues. Cooper explained that with young children, he wants to prioritize spending time with them while they still want to be with him, making it difficult to balance his roles at both CNN and CBS. He will continue hosting Anderson Cooper 360 and the New Year’s Eve special with Andy Cohen on CNN. Last year, he extended his contract with CNN to include 360, a weekly program called The Whole Story, and a podcast, All There Is.
