The primary star of the eagerly awaited John Wick spinoff aspires to join the central series that follows Keanu Reeves’ iconic assassin. In a recent interview, Ana de Armas hinted at the possibility of her character, Eve Macarro, featuring in John Wick 5, expressing it would be an “incredible” chance.
During an interview at the John Wick Experience in Las Vegas, de Armas expressed her willingness to reprise her role, especially since her character and Macarro’s could have built a connection in the movie “Ballerina”. She said, “That sounds fantastic!” or “I’d be thrilled by that prospect.” “Why not? After all, they already know each other. So, why wouldn’t it happen? I find the idea captivating. It would be wonderful!
Contrary to the apparent death of John Wick in Chapter 4’s finale against Donnie Yen‘s character Caine, it was announced soon after the last sequel’s release that there would indeed be a fifth film. Keanu Reeves is the only cast member confirmed for John Wick 5 so far, but the Bowery King, a recurring character in the franchise, has expressed hope of returning for the next installment. Chad Stahelski, who has directed all four previous movies, will also be back at the helm for John Wick 5.
Ballerina Chronicles de Armas’ Vengeful Assassin
Nestled between the last two “John Wick” installments, specifically “Chapter 3 – Parabellum” and “Chapter 4,” lies the story of “Ballerina,” focusing on Macarro, otherwise known as Rooney, a ballet-skilled assassin. This character was schooled in the Ruska Roma assassin traditions to seek vengeance for her father’s death. Along her path to revenge, she receives guidance from an enigmatic figure and undergoes trials designed to test her mettle. Macarro encounters challenges not only from the wise counsel she seeks but also from Gabriel Byrne’s character, the Chancellor, who governs a town hostile to her.
In addition to Ballerina, Anjelica Huston from Chapter 3 – Parabellum and Norman Reedus from The Walking Dead are also part of the cast, with Reedus portraying a mysterious character named Daniel Pine. The movie brings back Ian McShane as Winston Scott, the head honcho at The Continental, and features Lance Reddick in his final role as hotel concierge Charon.
