AMC Theatres Will Offer Half-Price Tickets on Wednesdays Starting in July

starting from July 9th, AMC Theatres is granting an extra benefit to its loyalty club, AMC Stubs. From then on, Stubs members can purchase Wednesday tickets at half the usual price for adult evening shows, joining the savings they already enjoy on Tuesdays.

The reduction in price can be utilized across all AMC cinemas situated within the U.S., but please note that regular online booking fees and extra costs associated with premium large format screens remain applicable.

36 million individuals are enrolled in AMC’s Stubs program, a membership that can be easily obtained at no cost for those who are part of the Insider tier.

According to AMC, some films or specific holiday seasons might not qualify for the 50% off deal on Wednesdays.

At AMC Theatres, we’ve put in a lot of effort to establish our cinemas as the best places to watch movies. We’ve done this by enhancing seating comfort, providing more premium formats, and improving our food and beverage options. Now, we’re also excited to make moviegoing more budget-friendly with our new ‘50% Off Wednesdays’. Initially, we couldn’t consider such a change in ticket pricing until the box office showed clear signs of a full recovery. However, since April, and now in May, the box office has been thriving, and it looks like this positive trend at the box office will continue throughout 2025,” stated AMC Chairman and CEO Adam Aron in a statement.

According to Aron, Tuesday’s discounted screenings have turned out to be among the busiest days for AMC cinemas. He mentioned that they aim to make Wednesdays just as popular for moviegoers at their theaters.

Prior to the pandemic, it was uncommon for theater chains to offer widespread ticket discounts beyond matinee and child rates. However, with the box office this year showing a 32.5% decrease compared to 2019, the country’s largest exhibitor is now open to trying out new methods to attract more cinema-goers back to movie theaters.

July releases include “Jurassic World Rebirth” on July 2 and “Superman” on July 11.

The AMC A-list plan, which is an upgrade to their Stubs program, enables movie enthusiasts to watch as many as four films every week for just $28 monthly.
