AMC’s Anne Rice Immortal Universe has suffered its first major loss.
The TV series Talamasca: The Secret Order won’t be returning for a second season, according to Variety. The show, which first aired in October, has been canceled after only one season.
The show, which premiered in 2025, has been canceled and won’t be back for another season. This is the first time AMC has canceled a series based on Anne Rice’s novels, despite building a franchise around them.
AMC confirmed the decision in a statement, but suggested they might still be involved in future projects within that same cinematic world.
We’ve decided not to move forward with another season of Talamasca: The Secret Order, but we’re very proud of the show and thankful for everyone who worked on it. The Talamasca is an important part of the Anne Rice Immortal Universe, and we plan to include these characters and the organization in future projects within the franchise.
Although the Talamasca: The Secret Order series won’t be continuing on its own, AMC isn’t finished with the group. Since they’re important in many of Anne Rice’s stories, we might see characters or plotlines from it appear in shows like Interview with the Vampire or Mayfair Witches.
