Amber Midthunder and Civil Rights Activist Cecilia Chung to Be Honored at CAPE’s Radiance Gala

At the annual Radiance Gala hosted by CAPE (Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment), Amber Midthunder (“Novocaine”) and civil rights champion, transgender advocate, and health activist Cecilia Chung are some of those who will be recognized for their achievements.

The Emmy Award-winning editor Aika Miyake (“Shogun”), the actor Maia Kealoha (“Lilo & Stitch”), the multi-talented Zarna Garg (“A Nice Indian Boy”), Daria Overby (creative diversity and inclusion leader at Starz), and Oscar-winning producer Samantha Quan (“Anora”) are also slated for recognition.

Furthermore, Ann Lee, the co-founder and CEO of CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort), will receive recognition for her efforts in delivering locally focused wildfire aid to impacted neighborhoods within Los Angeles.

Speaking as a cinema enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the talented actress and humorist, Kiran Deol, will be our host for this event, while the enchanting Luna Li has been confirmed as our musical guest for the evening’s gala.

The Radiance Gala recognizes and celebrates women and non-binary artists, cultural innovators, and influential figures within the Asian and Pacific Islander communities. This event aims to acknowledge the remarkable achievements of these individuals who have significantly contributed to increasing Asian and Pacific Islander representation in both on-screen and behind-the-scenes roles over the past year. The gala also spotlights their outstanding contributions to the entertainment industry.

The event will be held at The Ebell of Los Angeles on March 24.
