I’m loving CinemaCon 2026! It’s day three now, and Amazon MGM Studios is up next to show off what they’ve got coming to theaters. For those who don’t know, CinemaCon is the place for theater owners to get a first look at all the big movies coming out – it’s basically the year’s biggest preview event. We’ve already heard from Warner Bros. and others, and things are really starting to pick up with all the announcements!
CinemaCon 2026 is underway in Las Vegas and will wrap up on Thursday, April 16th. Amazon MGM Studios is scheduled to present its lineup between 8:30 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. Pacific Time.
Amazon showcased a variety of films last year, including the hit movie Project Hail Mary, which is expected to be one of the biggest releases of 2026. They also previewed several other upcoming projects, such as Crime 101, Mercy, Verity, and After the Hunt.
Amazon’s next big movie release is Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan: Ghost War, hitting theaters on May 20th. John Krasinski returns as Jack Ryan, and he’ll be joined by familiar faces Wendell Pierce, Michael Kelly, and Betty Gabriel.
I’m really excited about the Masters of the Universe movie! I saw a lot about it at CinemaCon, and MGM is really pushing it this year. It’s based on the classic He-Man and Skeletor toys I grew up with, and it looks like it’s going to be a big fantasy adventure. The movie stars Nicholas Galitzine, Camila Mendes, and even Jared Leto, which is awesome!
Fans are excited about the upcoming sequel to Spaceballs, titled Spaceballs 2. Written by Josh Gad and Mel Brooks, the movie will bring back original cast members like Bill Pullman, George Wyner, Daphne Zuniga, and Rick Moranis. Joining them will be new stars Lewis Pullman, Keke Palmer, and Anthony Carrigan. The comedy is scheduled to hit theaters on April 23, 2027.
